Description:

Drawing inspiration from playing cards, tarot cards and Mexican loteria cards the organizers of The Deal initiated a local, city wide art card collective in the spring of 2008 called The Deal. Art entities including visual artists, performers, musicians, film makers, museums, galleries, writers, architects and supporters of the arts are represented by an individual card. The deck of 108 cards has become a tangible object embodying a selection of these "creators" offering a reference to the individual as well as to the Boise community arts scene. As an object, The Deal will provide a tangible reference for the community as it exists right now but there is hope that the cards can additionally offer historical significance to future generations of Boise Arts "creators." Reception: Sept. 2, 2008, 5:00 – 7:00 Free parking will be available in the Liberal Arts parking lot during the reception.
